BE AN OVERCOMER

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
 Revelations 21:7

This morning as I read this verse it hit home with me.

Wanting to lose weight so that I look good is all right, nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel good about myself. Wanting to lose weight so that I will be healthier is great. Health is important in our day and time... read almost any magazine and you'll find something in it about improving your health.

But, overcoming temptations is even better than looks and health. God wants us to overcome the temptations that Satan puts in front of us to sway us to remain unhealthy. You see, a unhealthy man or woman is less likely to accomplish what God has set out for them to do. When you are tired, sluggish and feel rotten because of the body fat that your body has to carry around, you don't feel like doing the will of God, at least I don't.

Be an overcomer of temptation. Follow a healthy eating plan, do some form of exercise, and above all stay in the Word of God. Overcomers inherit all thing! That is a powerful verse..., I'm putting it on my fridge, bathroom mirror and in my car. I want to be an overcomer, I want to please God. I know you do too.

Have a blessed week everyone.

  1. Thank you for sharing this. My wife and I have been trying to stay healthy by consuming weight loss shakes before we get old and lose our metabolism.

  4. You made a great point when you said weight loss for looks and health is great but that God wants us to acquire the skill of resisting temptation because that will help with weight loss and many other issues in life. I can see that as the bigger picture. If I can overcome the thing that causes my weight gain, not being able to resist temptation, I can be successful at losing weight. Thanks!
